Malgudi Garden
About This Spot
Step into Malgudi Garden, and you’re immediately wrapped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both familiar and thoughtfully curated. Soft chatter hums around shared tables, laughter bubbling up from families and friends enjoying a relaxed evening together. The pace here encourages unhurried conversations and rediscovery—whether you’re catching up over a midweek dinner or treating the whole family to a colorful buffet spread.
This isn’t just a restaurant; it feels like a gathering spot where the joys of vegetarian Indian cuisine are shared with genuine care. The open layout invites exploration, with live counters where dosa and chaat are prepared right in front of you, transforming every meal into a little celebration of textures, aromas, and tastes. The balance of spice and subtlety in every bite reveals a kitchen mindful of tradition yet comfortable welcoming fresh, healthful touches.
What really shapes the experience here is the way dishes unfold across the meal—a silky mango lassi that cools the palate is soon followed by the comforting richness of a ghee pongal or the satisfying snap of an uttapam topped just right. Sweet moments arrive unpretentiously with comforting favorites like gulab jamun or kesari, rounding out the meal with a gentle sweetness that invites you to linger.

we were here on Friday night 12/05. The north Indian veg buffet is very good. All the items we had are upto the mark. The spice ratios were perfectly used. No extra oil in any item. The live counters of dosa/chaat/bhel/pani puri/ dahi puri are perfect spot for the kids and youngsters. We would love to come back.

One of our favorite place to eat.. We did catering with this restaurant and they never disappoint us in serving the delicious food. Their Idli, chutney’s and veg Biryani are SUUUPER YUM… Our guest totally enjoyed their food and appreciated.. It’s always fresh, flavorful, and full of variety. After being impressed with their catering, we recently visited Malgudi Gardens for their dinner buffet. They have a lot of variety in their buffet and we enjoyed every bite we eat there. We all liked almost everything. It’s a vegetarian restaurant and the BEST part is their food is NOT too much Oily and not too spicy. Our kiddos were able to eat it too. Everything was so perfect. The staff is incredibly kind and their hospitality really stands out.. Highly recommend!

The buffet was great. Pizza (with an indian flavor) many types of rice & other pasta / breads, then 5 or 6 types of main dishes, salads, fruit, etc too Malgudi Garden While in Texas for the Gun Rights Policy Conference 2017, I stopped by this Indian Restaurant & Buffet for dinner in east Dallas. It is GREAT !! Vegetarian Buffet at Malgudi Garden in Plano, Texas The flavors were out of this world, this is the way i like to eat new foods, at a buffet where I can sample all and learn what I like best Cant go wrong in a vegetarian restaurant though, it will all be good

These people had me grinning from ear to ear on my drive home. Downloaded ToGoodToGo last night and spontaneously snagged a reservation for Malgudi Garden’s Bring Your Own Containers (up to 5) for $6.99 (total). I have never tried this place and thought it was a great deal for some meal prepping. Walked in with 4 containers, thinking 2 of them were a little large. I was very wrong. The staff was extremely generous and definitely provided can’t wait to try more of their dishes.

Obsessed with this place! I’d say it’s the best Indian vegetarian buffet in DFW. Their specials change often. Literally for lunch it can be shoulder to shoulder people sometime. But the food is so good. I love their bisebelebath and their paneer. Their idlis are also amazing!! So is the Vada & Sambar. So good! They have a live dosa bar most days too. So fun and tasty

Found this gem from the too good to go app. The food is amazing and fresh and the staff is very friendly. I was treated to my first taste of dosa with coconut chetni (spelling) today while picking up my order and it was made fresh at a cooking station in front of the restaurant and delicious. Thank you Roshan for the kindness and always taken care of me when I come.
